it's nursery rhyme time!

As a teacher, we must know that nursery rhymes have a powerful effect on energizing the students. By using nursery rhyme, teacher actually can help to boost the students energy while in teaching and learning process. Here are several activities that a teacher can do in order to avoid sleepy and bored students while teaching.

1.sing it along.
As a teacher, we must always have several nursery rhyme with us as a record. You may dot know that a song can be very helpful for you to awake your students. Some of nursery rhyme songs that you can use are London Bridge, Baa Baa Black Sheep or any familiar nursery rhyme song. The reason for teacher to use the familiar nursery rhyme is because when you use any unfamiliar song, students will unable to enjoy the song. They will be focused more into the lyrics of the song instead of enjoying the rhythm and the fun of singing it.

2. do the action.
Teacher should always be creative in teaching. By using a song, teacher not only can make as the students to sing it, instead they also can ask the students to do actions based on the song. The best songs for this activity is action song such as Head shoulder knee and toes song, Three little kittens song, or Itsy Bitsy Spider. Even though some of the actions are quite simple for us, however the students might feel a bit hard to do it. Doing the spider action at their fingers can be a challenging thing to do for them. So, never look down on any simple songs because they might offer a challenge for your students.

3. complete the lyrics.
The best way to do this activity is by doing it in group. Allow the students to collaborate among them. Let them  listen to the song and complete the worksheet that you gave to them at the same time. Surely it will be fun right?. Writing and listening at the same time will be quite though for them.
